Tasting Notes
The nose seduced us with flower meadows and honeysuckle, then flattered us with heather honey, maple syrup and caramel apple cake, before leaving wistful memories of herbal teas and 'sour worm' sweets. The palate was juicy, fiery, penetrating and lively (‘a whisky gobstopper’), combining cereal notes with red apple, pineapple, pink peppercorns and chocolate mint cracknel. The reduced nose went from chamomile tea to peanut brittle and marshmallows in hot chocolate, trailing orange bitters and grapefruit behind. On the palate we now found vanilla fudge, brown sugar on porridge and liquorice allsorts preceding a grüner veltliner sharpness, cedar wood and cheek-tingling chilli on the finish.
