Tasting Notes
A warming aroma of hot granola in almond milk was the initial scent nosing this sample neat. That was followed by plum tart, banana bread, marzipan and Werther’s Original butter candies. On the palate plenty of spicy heat with the sweetness of thick vanilla custard cream, honey and toffee pocking through while in the finish a surprising ashy, smoky tobacco note. After reduction we prepared crème de cassis and red wine poached pears as well as glazed pineapple with cinnamon and crème fraîche. To taste, toasted oats in Greek style honey yogurt and a combination of sweet and tart flavours so typical of a Braeburn apple.
