Tasting Notes
First impressions included pine needles, barbour jackets, furniture wax and putty. Some crisper notes of green apple and underripe gooseberry - very 'highland' in style. With water we got sandalwood, toasted sunflower seeds, cooling oils and a light, umami salinity, like pasta water. In time also a floral aspect like dandelion and daffodil. The palate when neat opened with a tang of cider apple, then lemon air freshener, boiled citrus sweets, plain cereals, fabrics and dried flowers. In time it became fruitier and sweeter. With water we got a wee warmth of spices, lemon barley water, pine resin, liquorice and things like malt loaf, bergamot and white pepper.
