Het tasting panel vormt het kloppende hart van de Society. Normaal gesproken is het een selecte groep leden en experts die bepaalt of een vat whisky de Society-standaard haalt — een verantwoordelijke taak waarvan menig lid weleens heeft gedroomd.

Een van onze meest geliefde panelvoorzitters was Robin Laing, bekend om zijn kleurrijke tasting notes waarmee hij leden meenam op een reis langs zijn eigen herinneringen en ervaringen — inventief, soms ondeugend, maar altijd raak. Kun jij een tasting note schrijven die hem eer aandoet?
Tijdens deze panel experience proef je blind, in kleine groepen, precies zoals het echte panel dat doet. Samen schrijf je tasting notes, verzin je titels en beslis je of een whisky de goedkeuring verdient. Uiteraard gaan we je daarbij begeleiden. Je presenteert de resultaten aan onze ere panelvoorzitter en jury: Hans Offringa!
Er is een prijsje voor de beste titel en tasting note van de avond — maar bovenal is dit een unieke kans om even achter de schermen van de Society te kijken, en vooral: volop te genieten

The tasting panel is the beating heart of the Society. Normally, it is a select group of members and experts that decides whether a cask of whisky meets the Society's standards — a responsibility that more than a few members have quietly dreamed of taking on.
Now it's your turn.
One of our most beloved chairs was Robin Laing, celebrated for his vivid tasting notes that took members on a journey through his own memories and experiences — inventive, occasionally cheeky, but always spot on. Can you write a tasting note that does him justice?
During this panel experience, you'll taste blind in small groups, exactly as the real panel does. Together you'll write tasting notes, come up with titles, and decide whether a whisky deserves approval. You'll present your findings to our chair of honour and jury: Hans Offringa!
There's a prize for the best title and tasting note of the evening — but above all, this is a unique chance to peek behind the scenes of the Society, and most importantly: to have a great time.
