A deep, spicy, fruity aroma of mulled winter punch with elderberry, blackcurrant and blood orange juice mixed with plenty of spices alongside rosewater, prune juice and a fresh cut pine scent all made this a tantalising proposition. Beautifully mouthcoating like a slice of strawberry-chocolate truffle tart or a spoonful of chocolate mousse with roasted almonds and nutmeg meringue. Careful when adding water as the nose turned autumnal with stewed rhubarb, dried cranberries, mincemeat and farmhouse cider. Still with that amazing texture on the palate, blackcurrant jam and treacle toffee with a bit more zing coming from a spiced and iced Jamaican ginger cake.
