Tasting Notes
The nose took our panellists to a posh tea party in an orchard – Turkish delight, marzipan petits fours and pain au chocolat, washed down with Earl Grey tea. The palate was a more playful mix of bubblegum, strawberry laces, cherry chocolates, sherbet, vanilla and coconut parfait – and the tea was now spicy chai. Adding water brought more fruit to the nose – watermelon, limeade, apples and lemons; served with muesli. On the palate now, one toerag was dunking digestives in Ovaltine but the rest of us (much more sophisticated) had Battenberg, golden syrup sponge and strawberry tarts with our EGT and chai.
