Playful and pleasing

A fresh, fruity nose – sherbet lemons and lime cordial, star fruit, cherry and banana split, plus runny honey and straw in a barn. The taste experience was sweet and fruity – fruit chews and pastilles, apricot flan, honey and oatmeal flapjacks – but the finish was playful, tart and dry, with bitter lemon, blackcurrants, chilli jam and chewed pencils. On the reduced nose, we identified fruit salad, lemon zest, raspberry ripple ice cream and meringues, with hints of cut flowers. Lovely creamy textures in the mouth and pleasing flavours of coconut, lemon drops and strawberry mojitos; the finish now embraced tobacco, ginger biscuits and bitter botanicals.
