Tasting Notes
After 10 years in ex-bourbon wood, we transferred this into a first fill American oak ex-bodega PX barrique. The nose started our day with crunchy nut cornflakes and Seville marmalade on toast and ended it with Russian caramels and ‘evening truffle hunting’. The tastes we enjoyed included chocolate malt drink and sugary espresso dregs, crème brûlée, dried figs and black bun. The reduced nose majored on chocolate raisins, cinder toffee and tiramisu, with peripheral ephemera of leather and tobacco. On the palate, toffee nut brittle and walnut cake combined with brandy snaps, maple syrup, popcorn and cinnamon rolls to create a satisfying, easy-drinking experience.
