Tasting Notes
It brought to mind a genteel and bucolic Highland farmyard full of stables, cuddy cows, baled hay and stray sheep shearings. Sweet buttery cereals, dessert wines, lemon barley water and elderflower cordial in the afternoon sunshine. Freshly chopped parsley muddled through salty butter and a zing of fruit pastilles. Water brought light tobacco, new leather and apple pie. Fruit scone mix, rose gardens and chamomile tea. In the mouth there was an immediate note of biscotti, golden syrup sponge cake, orange zest, light milk chocolate and candied ginger. Freshly baked soda bread with heather honey and dried mint. Reduction gave apple upside-down cake, sweetened porridge, blueberry muffins, Turkish delight, very fragrant waxes and shortbread crumbs.
