Tasting Notes
Have you ever smoked rolled banana leaves? You haven’t? Well, this is what this sample reminded some of us of. It did not smell like bananas, but it had an earthy-sweet scent. There was also the freshness of a lit menthol cigarette in the air. On the palate, we found a refreshing spiciness like extra strong eucalyptus throat lozenges, as well as dark chocolate-covered candied ginger. Following reduction, freshly roasted coffee beans were served with warm gingerbread cake and caramel sauce. The taste was of ginger and lemon tea with honey and sugared almonds and, in the finish, lightly dry tannins with a couple of drops of tea tree essential oil.
