Tasting Notes
A fabulous rich and nutty aroma delivered honey-roasted peanuts, hot fudge sauce, carrot cake with sultanas soaked in sherry, and slightly singed marshmallows over an open fire. On the palate this was velvety sweet, smooth and round, yet not like a sugar or fruity sweetness but more akin to the subtle sweetness of glycerine found in an otherwise dry sherry. After dilution we snuggled up in a Chesterfield leather chair with a cashmere blanket in front of a wood fire enjoying espresso martini tiramisu. Following 10 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a second fill Spanish oak PX hogshead.
