An unusually robust nose greeted the panel. Lots of hot toast, wood embers, fabrics, boiled lime sweets and putty. More lively that we are used to from this normally conformist distillery. Water brought peach stones, soda bread, chamomile, elderflower cordial and dried flowers in vase water. The mouth retained the nose's initial punch. Hot but sweet with chilli rice crackers, hot cross buns dusted with cinnamon, spiced custard, limoncello and hints of aniseed. Water maintained this nice level of sweetness and warmth with white pepper, hessian and various fruit jellies. A slightly bitter kiss of orange marmalade kept things lively.
